Before joining the Empower Her Ability project, Queen was already running a business selling bags and shoes. However, she did not have a consistent system for tracking daily sales, and her limited social media presence meant that most of her transactions happened offline. This restricted her visibility and limited her ability to reach new customers.
One of Queen’s major challenges was building awareness for her products online and using digital platforms effectively to grow her business.
Through entrepreneurship training and mentorship, Queen gained practical skills in financial management, record keeping, and digital marketing. She learned how to better manage her business and position her products online to reach a wider market.
Today, Queen actively promotes her bags and shoes on social media, reaches customers beyond her physical location, and conducts more transactions online. She also reports improved financial management and greater self-reliance in running her business.
For Queen, Empower Her Ability opened new pathways for digital visibility, customer reach, and business growth.
Her words say it best:
“What I’ve learnt, I will not just drop it. I’ll take it to the next level.”
Queen’s story demonstrates how access to entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and digital skills can help women with disabilities move beyond traditional business practices and explore new opportunities for growth.
