Before joining the Empower Her Ability Project, Joy was already running her poultry and grain business. However, she struggled with proper record keeping and sales tracking. Without clear records, it was difficult for her to monitor her business performance or make informed decisions for growth.
As a woman with visual impairment, Joy also faced accessibility challenges when navigating busy markets. She often needed assistance to move around and source products, adding another layer of difficulty to running her business.
Through the Empower Her Ability Project, Joy received entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and financial support through a business competition. She gained practical business management skills, strengthened her record-keeping practices, and became more confident in handling customer transactions.
Today, Joy reports increased income, greater confidence when engaging with customers, and an improved ability to manage her business finances effectively.
