Before joining the Empower Her Ability project, Isaac Perpetua Ada was running multiple businesses including bead making, household cleaning products, spices, and training services. Although she was active in business, she described her previous approach as simply “doing something” without proper structure, financial records, or a clear growth strategy. Business was happening, but without systems to track progress or profitability.
Through Empower Her Ability, Perpetua participated in online entrepreneurship training, a physical bootcamp, mentorship sessions, and advocacy activities. She also received ₦100,000 in business support, which allowed her to purchase additional business materials and improve her inventory.
The project introduced her to record keeping, profit tracking, customer management, and strategic business growth. Mentorship also helped her become more accountable, with regular reporting systems that strengthened her business discipline.
Today, Perpetua keeps financial records, tracks profits and expenses, manages a business account, and uses social media intentionally to market her products and services. She now reaches customers beyond her immediate environment and feels more confident running her business as a woman with disability.
Although financial support and access to more equipment remain challenges, Perpetua now operates with stronger systems and greater business clarity.
Her journey reflects the importance of combining practical entrepreneurship skills with mentorship and accessible opportunities.
