Before joining the Empower Her Ability Project, Rashidat faced a major challenge in her charcoal and firewood business: managing money. She struggled to separate business income from personal expenses and lacked proper record-keeping systems.
Through entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and financial support, Rashidat developed better money-management skills, learned to keep business records, and became more organized in her operations.
Today, she is more confident engaging customers, making business decisions, and managing her business with greater discipline. She also used the project’s financial support to purchase a truckload of charcoal for resale, strengthening her business operations and creating opportunities for growth.
For Rashidat, Empower Her Ability has strengthened not only her business skills but also her confidence as a woman with a disability.
“As a woman with disability, if I am empowered, I will be able to empower others.”
Her journey reflects the power of inclusive entrepreneurship support to help women with disabilities build stronger businesses, greater confidence, and the capacity to empower others.
