At Empower To Thrive Development Initiative (ETTDI), we generate evidence that drives change. Led by Dr. Reginald Chima, our Scientific Director, this unit explores how people live, work, and thrive—and how policies and programs can better serve them. We study issues that matter: livelihoods, digital economies, health, education, and inclusive growth. Our evaluations help partners understand what works, what doesn’t, and how to improve impact.

What makes us different?

We combine rigorous research with a human focus—ensuring the voices of women, youth, and persons with disabilities are heard in shaping solutions. We also bring innovation to the table, exploring how technology and AI can open opportunities without leaving anyone behind. Through this work, ETTDI turns data into action—strengthening policies, empowering communities, and advancing inclusive development across Africa.
